Daniel the Kelpie Revisited

Daniel is, for a friend of mine, a favorite creation, so I went back to him today to play with thinking about how he works. As I went over briefly in my last post, Daniel's world is one where the Fey and Humans live along side each other tenuously in the present day. Humans rule the domains of science, probability and facts and Fey the domains of magic, divination and intuition. Each hold onto their ways in a kind of cold war of ideologies. Some of course subscribe to neither, and some, to both. While both are valid takes on reality, there is nothing saying that either holds the answer to all of life's mysteries.
A bit of both though, and maybe one could get closer?

It's just a fun world to think about, though there's nothing written and no story planned really. Of course, the more I think him over, the more I'd like to figure something out. It's not exactly an original setting, but it's not horrendous if the plot is good. I won't reveal the other notes I thought up just yet, in case I have more Daniels to post, other than to note that the exercise here was to cram a horse's anatomy into a person-shape. The rest of course, is just magic, but it helps to have something to work with. It was totally a lot of fun to work on.
